Upon installation of the program, a file called MANUAL.PDF is located in your Hurrevac2000 installation directory. This is the program manual in Acrobat PDF format, an internet standard format for viewing published reports and manuals. Using the Help | Hurrevac Manual... option will allow you to read and print out the manual with Acrobat Reader (which you may already have on an office machine, if not it is available free on the web). In order for the program to find your Acrobat Reader program (.exe file) you must specify its location under File |Program Setup | General Setup | Misc panel. If you have Adobe Acrobat software installed on your machine, the manual will be displayed. You can browse through the manual (and print it to hard copy if need be).
The HURREVAC program covers about 1600 at-risk counties in the Mainland US, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. It is impossible for the HURREVAC programmer to do on-site training for all these areas...while programming new items during the off-season ... and maintaining the internet site / seeing that the data feeds are updated on time during the hurricane season.
The NOAA Coastal Services Center has produced a new Training Document for the Hurrevac Inland Flood Module. It is very comprehensive and will be very useful for Inland counties using Hurrevac. This Training describes the entire Rain and River forecast process by the National Weather Service and leads you through the Inland Flood module in Hurrevac. A must for inland counties which have a river flood problem. The document is here (to get this you will need the same user name and password you used to download the program itself).
Sea Island Software has a new Hurrevac2000 MultiMedia Training CD available...with over 4 hours of training divided into 32 short sessions that allow you to train on your timetable.

Hurrevac2000 are designed with a context sensitive Help system. This is accessed either through the Help menu or by using the F1 key on your keypad. When using the F1 key, the Help screen that appears will in most cases apply to the last button you pressed or the last menu item you selected. Also a good way to start would be to select Help | Using Hurrevac option and navigate through a 'tour' of the program using hyperlinks.
